YouTube Star Emily Hartridge Dies At 35 In Tragic Scooter Accident

British YouTube star Emily Hartridge has died at the age of 35, following a horrible accident. A message to fans sharing the devastating news was posted on Hartridge’s Instagram account late Friday night.

“This is a horrible thing to have to say over Instagram, but we know many of you were expecting to see Emily today, and this is the only way to contact you all at once. Emily was involved in an accident yesterday and passed away. We all loved her to bits, and she will never be forgotten. She has touched so many lives; it’s hard to imagine things without her. She was a very special person,” read the message which concluded with four heart emojis.

Although the London Police Department confirmed there was a fatal accident between a truck and a scooter, they did not reveal the name of the woman who passed away. The Guardian is reporting that the television personality was the female riding the scooter who died.

Hartridge rose to YouTube stardom seven years ago with her hilarious listicle videos “10 Reasons Why.” There was no topic off-limits when it came to her infamous lists. One list was “why your 30’s are better than your 20’s. Another asked “why dogs are better than men,” and a fan favorite list revealed the “worst ways to dump someone.”

She was able to parlay her YouTube success into a television personality job with Channel 4. Ironically as part of a segment for the show “Channel 4 show ‘Oh S***, I’m 30” Hartridge staged her own funeral in 2016. The TV personality listened as her friends and family gave emotional eulogies while she listened in the background.

Unfortunately, there is nothing fake or staged about YouTube star Emily Hartridge’s shocking death at age 35. Since the news was announced, tributes have been pouring in for the young woman, who lost her life in a horrible electric scooter accident.

“I’m absolutely devastated. RIP Emily,” wrote Pal Matt, ITV’s This Morning host, on Facebook.

“Sending you all so much love. So devastated,” Tweeted Made in Chelsea star Ashley James.

“I met @emilyhartridge on a train 5 years ago, and by the end of the journey, we’d shared all sorts of things about our mental health and insomnia. She was funny, kind, and open-hearted,” Tweeted author Greg Jenner.

“My friend is dead, and now I feel completely sick. Rest in peace Emily Hartridge,” wrote comedian London Hughes.
