Snowdrop Season 2: Is The Next Season Of Disney Series Confirmed? What The officials Said About It?

Publish date: 2024-06-19

Korean dramas are here to stay as their content keeps getting bigger and bigger. If we are being honest, Korean content was not so appreciated until the Squid game when everybody realized that all this while they have been sleeping on a gem. Well, not everybody, as some have been diehard fans of Korean content, and the rest of the world realizing its greatness late, only pissed them further. After Shows like All of Us Are Dead did well on Netflix, it was only a matter of time until the other big streamers adopted Korean shows just like Disney has. Snowdrop, a Disney collaboration, is based on a historical event in Korea that led to abolishing authoritarian rule and beginning a democratic republic. But with several Koreans criticizing the show’s attempt at retelling their history, will there be a second installment?

Snowdrop Season 2 Release Date:

The show rating 8.8/10 on IMDB is a perfect indication that the series did a good job at scripting and had exceptional actors to deliver the crisply written plots. Renewal should be a given with such a rating, but since shows with better ratings have received big chops, it will be too early to judge. Despite performing well, the show also receives negative criticism as many Koreans feel like the series distorts their history.

They have further argued that making the story available for people globally might be misleading for individuals who do not know what happened exactly. After a petition to stop JTBC from airing the series got 267,000 signatures in a day, several brands withdrew their sponsorships, and at this point, the future of the series remains bleak. Getting a renewal of the series at this point will be from sheer luck and not the show’s rating.

Snowdrop Season 2’s release date has yet to be confirmed. If the show Snowdrop releases a second season, we can expect it to premiere in mid-2024.

Snowdrop Season 2 Premise:

The series takes place in 1987 (June Democratic Struggle), a key time in Korean history as lives were lost during a mass movement to stop the prevalent dictatorship back in the days. When Eun Yeong-ro discovers the bloody body of Lim Soo-ho, she is forced to hide him in her university dorm, away from the government. When it is revealed that Lim is not who she thinks he is, his story starts unfolding, and a love story develops between the two.

Snowdrop Season 2 Cast:

If the series gets renewed for the second season, which seems unlikely, we expect most casts to reprise their roles. Jung Hae-In the series protagonist will be back as Lim Soo-ho; the Noth Korean agent on a mission in South Korea’s plays Eun Yeong-ro, Jung’s love interest In-na as Kang Cheong, Jang Seung-jo as Lee Gang-mu, Yoon Se-ah as Pi Seung-hee, and Kim Hye-Yoon as Gye Bun-ok.

Sundrop Season 2 Trailer:

Season one was only recently released; therefore, it may take some time to get the trailer for the second season. With sixteen episodes already out, this is the perfect series to binge on, and if you have not watched it, check out both the trailer and season one on Disney. You may also want to check some Korean series, such as Hellbound and My name, which have done pretty well on Netflix.
