Finding form in sport is an incredible feeling both for the athletes and coaches, but also for the watching fans. This is true in the NBA too.

The feeling of complete confidence heading into a game almost unrivalled and there are some teams that have enjoyed it for a very long period in their history.

It is even better for the fans if the winning streak in question takes place at home where it can be shared with more and more people, with expectation building every week.

There is a huge psychological effect on the teams travelling to face a team who have not lost at home in a ridiculously long time, meaning a snowball effect comes into the equation.

Here are the five basketball sides that have had the longest home-winning runs in the history of the NBA.

Boston Celtics

The 1985-85 Boston Celtics side managed to put together a home-winning run of 38 games. It was so good that it got picked up and continued by the following season's side. They also took home an NBA championship in that time.

Orlando Magic

A decade later, the Magic managed to win 40 home games in a row. The streak ran from March 21, 1995 to March 19, 1996. The team featured the likes of Shaquille O'Neal and Anfernee Hardaway.

Chicago Bulls

The 1995-96 Chicago Bulls are considered by many to be the greatest NBA team of all time and that is why they took the record to 44 games.

San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs are not seen as one of the more fashionable brands in NBA but they once managed to rack up a staggering 49 home wins in a row.

Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors managed to hit an amazing 54 consecutive wins at the ORACLE Arena in March 2016, but the run was then broken on April Fools Day by the Boston Celtics.
