Mattel Gives First Look at BTS Dolls Coming This Summer

Publish date: 2024-06-13

After announcing a collaboration with BTS in January, Mattel, the toy manufacturing company behind Barbie, has released the first glimpse of their upcoming BTS dolls, set to release this summer.

On Twitter, the company shared a few photos. The first showed a silhouette image of all seven BTS dolls lined up on stage, along with the caption, “No more dreaming. Something big’s coming…,” in reference to the K-pop group’s debut song, “No More Dream.”

The second image was a close-up of member RM’s face, focused on one special physical feature: his dimple. Of course, Twitter went into a frenzy about the particular attention to detail.

The third image, released today, was another close-up, this time, on Mr. Worldwide Handsome himself, Jin, known for his broad shoulders.

In a statement issued earlier this year, the company said, “The collaboration collection is set to be released this summer, and it will be the first collection to include dolls created around the likeness of BTS’s members,” meaning that the dolls are completely unique, specially made for BTS! Based on these first images, we think they’ve done a pretty good job capturing BTS’ details.

As well as the dolls, Mattel plans on releasing more BTS products in the future, including “collectible figurines, toys, games, and roleplaying items.” Some of those items were shown during the 2019 Toy Fair, which revealed that a BTS UNO card game was in the works.

We can’t wait to see the dolls when they launch this summer!
