Konnan Backtracks On Not Approving Eddie Guerrero Tribute On AEW Dynamite

Publish date: 2024-06-16

The pro wrestling world lost the great Eddie Guerrero in 2005. Latino Heat was known for his impeccable character work and incredible in-ring promos. Wrestlers from all around the world continue to pay tribute to the late great performer.

AEW star Kososuke Takeshita paid tribute to Eddie Guerrero last week on Dynamite as well. The Japanese sensation hit Eddie’s signature frog splash to a huge ovation from a red hot crowd at the County Coliseum in El Paso.

Former WCW star Konnan, however, took issues with Takeshita’s tribute to Eddie Guerrero. Konnan disapproved of the tribute during his podcast. Now, he’s backtracking on his comment by saying that it was meant to be taken as a joke.

the Takeshita thing was a joke, like im really gonna get mad over him doing a frog splash, everyone does it. if u actually believe I was hot, jokes on u..

AEW star Miro dragged Konnan for having issues with the Eddie Guerrero tribute as well. The former AEW TNT Champion came to Takeshita’s defense by saying that Konnan can’t hang with the Japanese sensation for 10 seconds inside the ring.

Konnan and Eddie Guerrero were incredibly close and it’s understandable that the former WCW star wants to protect his friend’s legacy. That said, Latino Heat was over with millions of fans around the world, many of whom followed in his footsteps.
