A controversial winner convicted of violating inmates’ civil rights received punishment from a federal court.
Victor Hill, the previous sheriff of Clayton County, was found guilty by a jury in October on six charges. On Tuesday, a court gave Hill an 18-month prison term.
He will also have to conduct community service and be under supervision for six years. Federal prosecutors had recommended a prison sentence of up to four years.
Hill served as Clayton County’s sheriff for almost 15 years before being charged and suspended in 2021. Georgia revoked Hill’s law enforcement certification two months after the verdict.
Under Georgia law and POST guidelines, an officer cannot continue in that capacity with a felony conviction. A special election will be held on March 21 to select Hill’s replacement as sheriff.\
A 17-year-old was purportedly left in the limitation seat in another case. In one asserted episode, Slope purportedly took steps to “sit your a** in that seat for sixteen hours in a row” two prisoners lashed into limited seats, assuming they participated in the additional crime.

The metro Atlanta area is well-known for Victor Hill. He called himself “The Crime Fighter” and used Batman imagery to promote himself on social media and in Campaign ads. This was his second trial on criminal charges.
Clayton County voters reelected Hill in 2012 even though he had previously been charged with using his position for personal gain. He disproved those allegations. A 12-page federal indictment accusing Hill of four offenses was unveiled in April 2021.
In 2020, prosecutors claimed Hill violated the civil rights of four Clayton County jail inmates. Hill was charged in the indictment with ordering inmates to be strapped into restraint chairs for hours.
A man was once detained when it was claimed that he pointed a gun at two individuals outside his Jonesboro home. He was lodged in the Clayton County Detention Center.
When Hill denied the allegations against him, it was alleged that he instructed staff members to “put his a** in the chair.” The team member was then allegedly left strapped in place for hours by Hill.
According to the prosecution, a further man was apprehended at his Hampton residence for allegedly possessing illegal firearms and drugs and for being “consistent and never representing a danger to anyone” after being arrested.
The sheriff purportedly put him in a restricted seat after he told Slope he would rather not converse with him. Additionally, he spent hours there strapped in.
