Bing Lees son Cedric Lee lists Whale Beach home next door to Jennifer Hawkins and Jake Walls $

Cedric Lee, son of electrical retailer Bing Lee, has listed Whale Beach weekender — and it’s right next door to Jennifer Hawkins and Jake Wall’s planned mansion, believed sold for $30m.

Lee has entrusted it with the Luxe Listings star and Chinese-Australian agent Monika Tu, who has an $8.8m price guide — a number considered to be lucky in Chinese culture — to sell 30 Rayner Rd.

Lee’s weekender, with never-to-be-built-out views, has been a sanctuary and place of restoration for Cedric and his wife Deborah since they purchased it in 2009.

But having rented it out for the past three years the couple has decided to let it go.

Hawkins and Wall’s planned mansion is understood to have sold for $30m before it’s even finished.

The celebrity couple own 24-26 Rayner Rd and had plans approved last April to create an oceanfront estate on the 3300 sqm clifftop block.

It is believed they already have a buyer and Monika Tu is spruiking the sale in her video on the Lees property.

The founder of Black Diamondz Group Tu admits she isn’t that familiar with the northern beaches enclave of Whale Beach and has been amazed at the level of interest in the tri-level home she is marketing.

“I had three phone calls at 11pm at night, I didn’t realise how popular Whale Beach is, we have had so many inquiries,” she said.

Which is pretty impressive considering the seafront property only came to market on Tuesday.

The elite estate agent says the five-bedroom home would have been perfect for the second series of Luxe Listings Sydney in which she appears.

But that’s now done and dusted, with the series available on Amazon Prime on April 2.

“I think buyers will be expats or international buyers, we already have people interested from Boston and Singapore,” she said.

“This is the year of the tiger and I am a tiger,” Ms Tu explained adding that her out of area contacts and social media presence gave her an edge over the local agents.

Cedric and Deborah Lee bought the Rayner Rd property in 2009 for $3.5m and for the last three years they rented it out, for around $2000 a week.

In preparation for sale the Lees spent thousands of dollars renovating the home which has a marble kitchen, expansive lounge with fireplace, dining room with floor to ceiling glass walls and entertaining decks.

One entire level is given over to the main bedroom with ensuite, walk-in wardrobe, deck, swimming pool and separate shower room.

Features include customised cabinetry, zoned airconditioning, modern bathrooms and low maintenance gardens.

The house is on more than 850 sqm of land and with an orientation to the northeast there are views to Barrenjoey Lighthouse over to Bouddi National Park and up to the Central Coast headlands.

Cedric held various roles in the family-owned electrical business, from sales to marketing and for 10 years he was managing director before he joined Betta Stores as general manager.

Today he and his wife still live in Sydney and are heavily involved in philanthropic pursuits.

For more than 30 years Deborah and Cedric fostered more than 100 children, adopting three children and fostering babies prior to their adoption.

Deborah has written a heartfelt book on their fostering experience called Mixed Blessings.
